Happy Christmas Y'all!
When the North East wind doth blow there shall be a wee bit of snow and bloody Baltic temperatures! |
Back in da' rather bucolic hood. |
Ramblin' wid my homies. |
Yo! Omar comin'! OMAR COMIN'!!! |
"Let it be one cheerful rational voice amidst the din of mourners and polemics." Ralph Waldo Emerson, 1840. A Brit-in-Helsinki's blog about global politics, climbing, cycling, things that annoy me and other bits of life. But not necessarily in that order.

Welcome home. Over 8" in North Oxfordshire since Friday. With fuel saving low profile tyres on my poor car I spend as much time digging as driving.
Normal work suspended, normal shopping suspended, Christmas shopping forgotten.
Dogs paws are cracked and will not recover unless the snow and ice goes. So preparing for bloody pawprints everywhere.
Keep calm and carry on....
I had a pretty epic journey over, it would have just been boring and annoying had I been on my own, but with two small exhausted kids in my sole charge it added some spice to the proceedings! Easyjet nearly got us to Manchester but at the last minute decided we would all enjoy a brief sojourn to Newcastle. After a couple of hours enjoying what you can see of Newcastle whilst parked on the runway at the airport, we flew to Manchester where it took the airport 2 hours to find steps and a bus to come and take us to the terminal - the it was still a half hour wait for baggage. Then drive to my family's house, arriving at about 6am instead of a bit before midnight. Oh - they joy. 'Tis the season to be jolly and all that :-)
