Did you know...
...that your average Australian has a bigger carbon footprint than your average American? I didn't until this morning.

I could have told you that ages ago. Australian's all live in detached houses of ever increasing size and insist on having ducted air-conditioning throughout for the summer and, in the south anyway, heating for the winter as well. Add their taste for over-sized cars and a couple of huge aluminium refineries (do you have any idea how much electricity it takes to refine that stuff?) and there you have it. Oh yes, we're the biggest coal producer in the world now as well!
